Prancing J-Settes Pre-Registration Requirements

Please Note: If you pre-registered and auditioned in the 2016 auditions,  you MUST complete the pre-registration process for the 2017 auditions.

 

BEFORE YOU AUDITION FOR THE 2017-2018 PRANCING J-SETTES, YOU MUST BE ACCEPTED TO THE UNIVERSITY AND HAVE A CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE OF 2.5.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 1, 2017.

If you are a high school student, please complete the following information on the Sign Up for J-Sette Page.

  • Application
  • Upload your acceptance letter from Jackson State University (a copy/scanned document or screenshot is permissible)
  • Upload Three (3) letters of recommendation from a teacher, dance coach, band director, etc.  Recommendation letters will not be accepted from family members.

If you are a JSU student, please complete the following information on the Sign Up for J-Sette Page.

  • Application
  • Upload your unofficial transcript from Jackson State University (a copy/scanned document or screenshot is permissible)
  • Upload Three (3) letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters will not be accepted from family members.

If you are a transfer student, please complete the following information on the Sign Up for J-Sette Page.

  • Application
  • Upload your acceptance letter from Jackson State University (a copy/scanned document or screenshot is permissible)
  • Upload your unofficial transcript from your previous university (a copy/scanned document or screenshot is permissible)
  • Upload Three (3) letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters will not be accepted from family members.

 

Once you have successfully submitted these documents, you will receive a confirmation letter. Please allow one (1) week after you have submitted your documents to receive your confirmation letter.

NEEDED ITEMS:

All applicants will need their own music on a jump drive with their name and track selections labeled. Please make sure your music is 45 secs -1 min and free of obscene, profane and suggestive language. All applicants will be provided with a uniform for stage presence component, but are required to have their own toast tights.

Interview attire is business attire. Knee pad and/or elbow pads are optional.
